Extended spells of sunshine in recent days have encouraged an early display of snowdrops beside the bridle path.

One of my favourite Oriental Poppies is the delightful Princess Louise. The flower pictured below opened four days ago and is the first in my garden this year.
Its beauty is confirmed by a closer look.
