The cracked glass (2)

In this interpretation the glass is presented as it might be used as an ‘evidence’ item on a cover design for a crime novel.

The cracked glass (1)

Today’s post and the two following offer three interpretations of the same object  –  a cracked drinking glass

In this image the glass is presented as a straight still life photo.

Evening Star

Yesterday evening, as the last rays of the sun faded over the horizon, the vast, cloudless expanse of western sky provided the backdrop for just two gleaming celestial bodies  –  a crescent moon and the Evening Star (Venus).

After the big bang (Pitsford 3)

A short, loud retort  –  probably a car exhaust  –  caused panic among a flock of gulls who took flight in chaotic fashion.

By the water’s edge

Taken a few days ago on a visit to nearby Pitsford Reservoir.  It was a bright day, quiet and a little chilly  –  therapy for the soul!

The chair (See also ‘Thinking Space’)

The title has been chosen with care.  It is not a chair, it is the chair.  It is the chair to which my wife believes me to be too deeply attached!  It is here that I sit and think, reflect, read, ponder, cogitate, write, create pictures, and generally wrestle with the ills of mankind.  This sanctuary of enlightenment is surrounded by a world of oblivion and outer darkness.  A less kind interpretation is that this is my bolt hole  –  a place of escapism!

Thinking space

Most of us, I suspect, have (or would like to have) a quiet corner  –  a place where we can get away from all distractions and think, read, meditate, dream, or even process images for sharing with others.  The picture below was taken in my room.  It was while sitting at the computer that I realised I had a ‘ready made’ subject just by my left elbow!  –  and I liked the pattern it created.
