I  enjoy very much and admire greatly the woodcuts of Eric Gill.  It was with his inspiration in mind that I attempted the above style of processing and presentation.

Today’s post and the two following offer three interpretations of the same object  –  a cracked drinking glass

In this image the glass is presented as a straight still life photo.

Who’s there?

This is, in fact, a simple seaweed pattern found on the beach  –  nothing added and nothing removed.  Only the colours have been removed and reduced to white on black.  Then, in my imagination, there emerges a young lady, nervously responding to a knock at the door, late at night

Patterns from Pitsford

Looking back through pictures from my visit to Pitsford Reservoir I was attracted to the patterns formed by groups of birds.  The two images below have been processed in a manner that draws attention to the ‘pattern  dimension’.  The patterns have not been manipulated, just isolated.

Aladdin on the shore

The statistics tell me this is post No. 600!  Doesn’t time fly when you’re enjoying yourself?!

Perhaps it was a combination of the odd glass of wine and the onset of the pantomime season that encouraged me to see an Aladdin-like character in this seaweed ‘abstract’!
