Just passing by! (2)

These photos were taken from the passenger seat of a car while travelling on the A508, using the camera on my smartphone.

Abstract 235

Although this abstract is in monochrome, its lines and tonal contrasts create an energy and movement that I find pleasing and full of vitality.

Grasses dancing in the sunshine

I particularly enjoyed the light, the movement, the textures and the colours in this scene.  Beauty in chaos!

More Pond Images

It is interesting to compare the black and white images below with the colour image, Pond Abstract, posted recently.  All of the shots were taken within seconds of each other.  It seems to me that the monochrome pictures convey a sense of energy and movement, which is the essence of these photos.  The colour image, I find more static but with  a strong ‘pattern’ interrelationship between shapes and colours.

Grasses bending in the breeze

I was attracted by the natural pattern of these grasses, their rhythm and movement.  But the more time I spent with the image the more lifelike/human they became.
