A walk through Monet’s garden at Giverny (1)

Monet’s garden is characterized by a natural, seemingly informal beauty and a tranquil atmosphere, despite the constant stream of visitors.  The large expanse of water reflects the weeping foliage of the surrounding trees and contributes significantly to the peaceful ambience.

In this selection and the next attention is given to the ‘impressionist’ feel rather than to sharply focused botanical details.  Occasionally, during processing, a touch of watercolour filter has been applied to assist the desired effect.
