Seaweed abstract ‘Yesterday’s Pop Star’

This is a natural seaweed pattern.  The sand has been bleached out and a little colour saturation has been applied.  The result is an image reminiscent of the appearance and hair style once favoured by pop stars!!

Where have all the green ones gone?

With apologies to Pete Seeger, the title seems appropriate!  The chocolates have been passed around several times  –  children and grandchildren have made their choice.  Now it’s grandad’s turn.  But, surprise surprise, all the green oneas have been taken!

Aladdin on the shore

The statistics tell me this is post No. 600!  Doesn’t time fly when you’re enjoying yourself?!

Perhaps it was a combination of the odd glass of wine and the onset of the pantomime season that encouraged me to see an Aladdin-like character in this seaweed ‘abstract’!

Just think about it! (18)

‘Seeing is a creative process’.

‘Meaningful art  –  in any medium  –  is mind changing, challenging the prejudices of conventional thought.  In this role, art lives between the known and the unknown, communicating what it discovers in this ambiguous territory.’

Both quotations are from Duane Preble in his foreword to The Tao of Photography.

A quiet moment

I savour being ‘far from the madding crowd’, and I enjoy beauty in all its forms but especially, perhaps, natural beauty.  It is not surprising, therefore, that I find something idyllic about the seashore on a still day.
