Ruffled but unruffled

The rippling reflections of a moored boat create interesting patterns and textures that contrast with the smooth, graceful  movement of the swan.

Pond patterns

The ripples radiating from the cascading water (see Creating a splash) attracted the sunlight and reflected the clear blue sky and surrounding surfaces.  The bright light created a kaleidoscope of fluid, constantly changing abstract patterns.

Abstract 182

This abstract pattern is derived from the play of sunlight on waves.  The ’roundel’ format seemed appropriate  –  possibly subconsciously suggested by its porthole shape.  There will be two further images in this group.  Each has been given the ‘breathing space’ of a separate post.

Pattern on the water

The gold/ turquoise/ blue combination is invariably eye-catching.  Add textured patterns of seaweed and the result is irresistible.
