Is it an alligator? Oor a crocodile? Some form of reptile? In fact it’s an image derived from a bubble in my garden pond, complete with radiating ripples!
A celebration of rising temperatures
The ripples radiating from the cascading water (see Creating a splash) attracted the sunlight and reflected the clear blue sky and surrounding surfaces. The bright light created a kaleidoscope of fluid, constantly changing abstract patterns.
The fountain in my small garden pond creates constantly changing bubble patterns. Not only do the patterns change but so too do the colours, depending on the sky above, the activity beneath the water surface and the reflections from the surrounding trees and buildings.
