Flaming sand

Just as frost on a window pane can create magical, intricate patterns, so too can an ebbing tide leave behind its own mystical shapes  –  as this photo illustrates.

  1. These sand patterns really are quite magical – for me there is the added element that something as powerful and potentially destructive as the sea can create such delicate works of art.

    • I agree absolutely. I spent a considerable time exploring the variations of shapes and patterns, trying to understand this other dimension of the sea’s capabilities.
