The palette for this colour pattern is that used by Matisse in his cut-out ‘The Snail’ The composition is derived from a photograph of my garden path, turned on its side!

It was fun!
Exactly what I was thinking, great idea. And it works so well. I was in L.A. a few weeks ago and saw a terrific Matisse cut out at LACMA – the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was one of the best things I saw there.
How I envy you Lynn! I’ve not seen a ‘live’ Matisse but the impact must be immense – the scale, the vibrancy of the colours etc
