The low angle of the winter sun backlit the pelargonium, tracing the pattern of the veins in its leaves.

  1. Yes the light from the wintersun can help us creat real beauty:)

  2. Backlighting is wonderful – I love the way it has picked out all the veins in the leaves and adds a fine halo. This shot is particularly effective by keeping the background dark and simple. Right up my street!

    • I’m not surprised you like it! The pelargonium was brought into the house to protect it from frost. It sits on a west facing windowsill.
A happy 2014 to you Noeline.

  3. Nice! We need that bright green about now!
