It’s pussy willow time! As a small child I enjoyed the arrival of the pussy willows, catkins and lambs’ tails. They were somehow different from the leaf buds appearing at this time – they were unusual, they had character, they were ‘friendly’. That early attraction has remained – I still look forward to pussy willow time!
These buds are always a playful assurance that spring has sprung. I too have fond childhood memories; gathering them in tin foil and bringing them to my teachers:)
How important such early experiences are, and how the memories enrich our lives in later years!
Beauties. There was a pussy willow song we used to sing in grade school…maybe you know it? I can only remember the end of it… “warmer winds, your branches shaking, blow your fuzzy coat away.” Thank you for reviving that memory. : )
I don’t know the song but understand the sentiment. I think we are fortunate that we have such memories to cherish.
