Arctic in a pond

A recent sharp frost overnight produced a skin of thin ice on my small fish pond  –  the surface is about 150cm x 120cm.  But although the ice was thin it created its own mini ‘Arctic’ landscape with  a range of interesting textures.  I also discovered that the graininess of the ice and the absence of sharp edges made it a very difficult subject to photograph!
