The Gracious Lady of Spring

Perhaps the most beautifully ‘designed’ flower in the Spring garden is the Aquilegia.  For balance of shapes, clarity of lines, elegance and lightness it is unsurpassed.

  1. I love the tension in this photo between delicate floaty ballerina outer wings and the solid feeling of the gold in the inner petals and the firm thrusting movement of the inner stamens.
    You tag this as elegant, having line and balance. I would agree but there is also an element of sexiness there too.
