‘Can Spring be far behind?’

What a difference two days can make!  Throughout the day the sun has shone brightly and there has been an encouraging crispness about the air.

In the copse at Mill Farm the cheery snowdrops  chased away memories of the cold, dark days.  With remarkable resilience they forced their way through matted ivies, decaying leaves and fallen branches to produce a carpet of pure white.

In the sheep field the ewes took life easy  -  a time to relax before giving birth in just a few more weeks.

Yes, it feels as if Spring could be on the way!!

  2. Wow, a veritable carpet of snowdrops – and the light on those sheep does look warmer, it really does. Thank you!

  3. Oh my goodness! Springy! No spring in sight here.

  4. It could all be an illusion Elena – just wishful thinking!

  5. Our poor snowdrops have been covered in frost every morning. It amazes me how such a delicate looking plant can be so tough.
As for the sheep – she’s obviously been celebrating all ready and got a bit legless :)

    • You’re absolutely right – however hostile the conditions the snowdrop, amazingly and unfailingly, survives and cheers us with the promise of Spring.
Sheep just never stop eating – even to the point of getting on their knees to get more!!
