I mentioned two days ago that I get considerable pleasure from exploring the patterns created by grasses and seedheads set against a white, snow ‘canvas’. I appreciate that not everyone shares my enthusiasm - I have seen the raised eyebrows!! However, I am offering a selection below ranging from the simple ‘hieroglyph’ to more complex patterns.

That’s quite a variety – I love that linear look of bare twigs and grasses and too.
There is something very satisfying about the etching of patterns on the plain background.
I enjoy these patterns as well. Lovely.
I thought these might appeal to you, Elena!
I can understand your pleasure. I really like the second one, the simple hieroglyph. But all grasses and all snow I love! It is easy to love so many things …
Like you Gigi I love grasses and the simple statements they make against the snow.
I love the fourth one in particular – it’s arcs and irregular thicknesses remind me of Japanese calligraphy
I do agree. I’ve also made that connection. I think its part of the attraction.
What brilliantly simple photos (by which I mean simple but powerfully effective)
Thank you Simon. I appreciate your comment.
